Claire Elise Boucher (bu:'SeI/booSHAY) was born on March 17, 1988. The name she is given is Grimes. There are many styles of her music from the beginning is described as "lo hi R&B" as well as "futuristic dance-pop". She has also used elements from hip-hop electronic, and rock. Her lyrics often focus on sci-fi themes as well as feminist issues. The band has released five albums. Grimes was raised in Vancouver but later relocated to Montreal. She began her independently-based music career in the mid 2000s. In 2010 she debuted two albums via Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. In 2012, Visions was her third studio album. She signed with 4AD. Visions features the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" which won it the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. Art Angels, her fourth studio record, was released in the year 2015. Numerous publications praised it as the best album. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth studio album. Grimes has also been an actor and judge in Alter Ego's musical competitions performed as vocalist in Cyberpunk 2077 which was released 20th of January, 2020.
